Words for 2020 Graduates - Benjamin

 Dear the Class of 2020,

9 months ago, No one anticipated graduation would end like this.
Virtual School, No senior prom, No Commencement, No Senior Trip

Open Houses Postponed. Diplomas in the Mail.
Discouraging and Anticlimactic, might best describe your tale.

But God has a plan, even in this.
It just might not be what you expect.

We must always remember
that God sent us his Son,

He came for a purpose, the cross endured,
Rose in three days, our victory secured.

I’m not sure that I would have written it like that
But God’s design is glorious and anything but flat.

He died in our place, and adoption we gained.
So that through Christ, we’ll never be the same.

He challenges us, to no longer conform,
but in view of God’s mercy, to be transformed.

He petitions us come, and enfold our lives into his.
He bids us to walk, confidently knowing that we are now His!

He calls us to endure, and Yes, To plan and to prepare
But we walk by faith, Knowing that he is ALWAYS there.

He knows our tossings, our trials and our tears.
He knows our tomorrows, and he knows our next year!

He knew of the pandemic, before you were born.
And, he knows of the next trial for you that was formed.

But he assures and he promises to all his own,
I will never leave nor forsake you, you aren’t alone.

No matter what life brings, in all its trials and its sways,
I am a rock and a fortress, I will be with you always.

So abide in Christ, and trust in his word.
Stand firm in him, and you will always be secure.

Congratulations to the Class of 2020.
